Kuwait, or the State of Kuwait is a country in Western Asia that is situated in the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf, bordering Iraq to the north and Saudi Arabia to the south; it also shares maritime borders with Iran. The state has a coastal length of approximately 500 km (311 mi). Its population is 4.67 million people, out of which 1.45 million are Kuwaiti citizens while 3.2 million are foreign nationals from over 100 countries.
Kuwait is an emirate and is a developed country with a high-income economy backed by the world's sixth largest oil reserves. The Kuwaiti dinar is the highest valued currency in the world, and the state is the fifth richest country in the world by gross national income per capita.
The people of Kuwait (locals) are ones that are generally welcoming and friendly to foreigners. They are up to date with the latest news and technology, and many of them have lived abroad, especially during their time at college or university.
The balance between fancy malls and tradition souks is what makes Kuwait unique and gives people the freedom to choose where to go next and how much to spend. In the malls and restaurants lay some of the most well-known international and national restaurants and shops.
